So, Is It A Sister Or A Mister...

Today was the big day! I’m happy to announce that the baby is healthy and developing just like it should. Everything looks great. Oh yeah, we also found out if this baby is a sister or a mister!  That, of course, is the question that everyone wants to know.  So, the answer is…

Here we are with Paula, our Ultrasound expert!

I had my appointment at 9:50 this morning at Women’s Medical Center. We started with Paula, who is the Ultrasound genius. Penelopoppy was being extremely stubborn and wouldn’t move its leg from behind my belly button. Paula shook my belly a little and FINALLY, all was revealed.  Ladies and gentlemen, Penelopoppy is a GIRL!!!!  We are so stinkin’ excited! Oh, and she’s an adorable little girl if I do say so myself. Everything in the ultrasound went great. Paula at WMC is amazing and we got some really good pictures of our little angel.
It was so cute.  Once we saw the parts, it was time to get some pictures and, of course, the important things, make sure she was progressing in a happy, healthy way.  Our little girl kept her hands by her face almost the entire time. At one point she even waved at us. Her little fingers wiggled and her mouth opened.  I’m pretty sure I heard her say, “Hi mommy and daddy, and lady I don’t know.” She is absolutely adorable.  We can’t wait to meet her in person!

That's Cristi...she rocks!

After the ultrasound we waited a few minutes and saw our midwife, Cristi. She went over the ultrasound and told us everything looked great. What a relief!  Cristi was excited because she had predicated a girl and she was correct. If you notice in the picture she even wore pink for the occasion!  Okay so maybe that was just a coincidence.  We spent some more time with Cristi and discussed some of the questions that have been on our mind, then it was time to leave Women’s Medical Center and NOT tell anyone the results.  At least not yet.
After my appointment what do you think was the first thing I did? If you guessed shopping, then you guessed correct! I finally bought Penelopoppy a few cute outfits and of course her first pair of shoes. I could have gone crazy but I’m sure my bank account wouldn’t appreciate that. There were so many adorable bows and hair accessories. I can’t wait to buy those.  This little girl will be nicely accessorized!

Cake balls before their chocolate bath.

We had to wait until Maddie got home from work to tell the kids, and they were the very first people we wanted to tell.  Needless to say, Kelsey and Dylan drove me nuts. They tried so hard to get it out of me but I didn’t budge. I did have to send them to McDonald’s to get them out of the house so they would leave me alone, though.  LOL.  Our plan was for me to make cake balls and use them to break the news to the kiddos.  I made vanilla cake with vanilla frosting and put pink food coloring in it. I dipped them in chocolate so they wouldn’t see the pink. When Maddie finally got home after work (this is after receiving numerous texts from Kelsey about how stupid McDonald’s schedule is and she should just quit her job) we gave each kid a cake ball. When they bit into them they saw pink.  The video shows their reactions.

After telling the kids, we called and texted all of our family and a few close friends. I called my niece, Addisyn, who is almost four and told her she was having a baby girl cousin. She was so excited!  She had been telling me this whole time that I was going to have a girl. I was afraid she was going to not like me anymore if it was a boy. We had my in-laws over and let them have a cake ball. Yeah, they were excited too.  This was an amazing day. Now it is time to start thinking of a name.  Any suggestions?
This is my favorite picture so far.  Look how CUTE she is!

In this one, she has her hands in front of her face...blocking out the
Paparazi!  LOL.  You can also see her knee at the bottom.

And here I am, after my first shopping trip.  Look at those shoooooees!
