It’s been two months since Duffy’s surgery. Not just two months, but two interesting months. The procedure left him a bit sore for several weeks. It was funny how completely oblivious our kids were during that time! Duffy would sit on the couch with his snuggy (yeah, I said it, his snuggy) and underneath would be an ice pack firmly packed in his lap. Maddie, Dylan, and Kelsey never questioned a thing. Not even the fact that their Dad was suddenly wearing wind pants everywhere he went! LOL. He’s better now and we just got the results from our first follow up. It was GOOD news…
I’m not gonna sugar coat it. Even though the doctor said he anticipates a 78% success rate, I was still nervous. What if the procedure didn’t work as expected? What if we’re in the 22% instead? What if the lab shows that there are no swimmers?
We paid a visit to a nice facility in Lubbock last week for the follow up. That made a bit more sense than going back to San Diego (although another Rubio’s Fish Taco would hit the spot). After some quality time, Duffy emerged from the back room and we scurried off to wait for a call from Dr. Bastuba. When the call finally came, the results were stellar! My man is like a Michael Phelps factory! Dr. Bastuba had performed another successful procedure. It’s time to make a baby! ‘Nuff said.
