It has been a VERY busy, and exciting, Easter weekend. There is a group of people that I wanted to make sure I told before they heard about it on the radio. So, I have officially told everyone who needs to be told before the show tomorrow. Today started with a call to my grandparents…
I called Mimi and Papa today and told them our news. I really wish I could have told them in person but it just wasn’t possible. They live in Lubbock, Texas, and we just didn’t have a chance to drive over there in the past week or so. We had to settle for a phone call. I talked to Mimi and she was really excited. She is ready to start making burp cloths and bibs. If I know my grandma, we’ll have 750 burp cloths by the time little Penelopoppy makes his/her entrance into the world. I’ve seen the ones Mimi has made for my cousins and I can’t wait for her to make some for Penelopoppy. She embroiders the cutest things.

Once we got home from Albuquerque, it was time to tell my best friend, Kiki. She is the busiest person I know so I didn’t know if we were going to be able to meet for me to tell her in person, but I didn’t want her to hear it from the radio either. We finally decided to meet tonight at the Java Loft (no coffee for me…baby on board).
I met her there at about 7:30, and we chit-chatted about the family and our kids. I then told her my exciting news. Her reaction was the same as everyone else’s. She was absolutely shocked!
Kiki is my best friend and she has known how bad I have wanted this. Once she processed the information she gave me a hug and of course had a million questions. Since she’s my bestie she got to hear all the details (don’t tell Duffy…ha ha ha). We stayed at Java Loft until 9 talking about all of it. It is so nice to finally be able to discuss this with everyone. I can’t wait for the big announcement tomorrow morning on Duffy’s show. I’m so nervous and so excited all at the same time. I guess it is official, we are having a baby!
