And It Happened, Just A Little Flutter...

Last night was an amazing night. I finally felt Peneloppy move!  It was so surreal.  It all happened after Duffy and I went to bed and we were just lying there, talking about this and that.  All of a sudden, faloomp!  I was so excited and I wanted Duffy to feel it too.  Penelopoppy, however, had different plans…
I had read that you usually start to feel the flutters at about 15 weeks. Well, for several weeks now, I’ve tried to focus on feeling our sweet baby move and had no such luck. Even last night, as Duffy and I watched TV, I tried to stay focused on my belly. I could feel where the baby was in my stomach and would notice how it would move from this spot to that spot, but I couldn’t actually feel it.
Finally, when I was lying in bed, I felt it move around. In fact, it was moving quite a bit! I guess as of right now it has a little more wiggle room than it will have in a few months. I feel bad that Duffy can’t experience this with me. I know it’s a bummer that he can’t feel it and I get so excited about it. It won’t be too long till he can feel it from the outside. He just smiles and keeps his hand on my belly.  He’s determined not to miss it.
It is starting to feel “real”. There is actually a baby inside my belly and I still can’t believe it. I’m excited about all the other things that will play out over the next few weeks.  Things like….FINDING OUT IF PENELOPOPPY IS A BOY OR GIRL!  We’ll know that one in 2 ½ weeks and I’ll be sure to post it here for you guys.
