What a great weekend this turned out to be. It started out with a trip to Albuquerque, with the whole family, for Maddie’s State Track Meet. It ended with a wonderful Mother’s Day. It was kinda surreal celebrating Mother’s Day with my “four” kids! You know, the three older ones that spent the day spoiling me and the little tiny one that spent the day safe and sound with me. It all started in ABQ…
We went to Albuquerque for our daughter’s state track meet. While we were there, we got to spend time with my Mom and my sister’s family. It’s always nice to see them and to see my little niece and nephew. It’s also a terrific reminder of what’s in store for me and Duffy!

See Maddie run. Run, Maddie, run. |
Maddie did really well at the meet. She medaled in the 1600 (1 mile), which got her on the podium. She also kept her school record for that race, which is really cool. We’re REALLY proud of her. Because the State Meet is spread out over two days, we wound up spending two nights up there. Our younger kiddos stayed with my Mom and Duffy and I stayed in town, closer to the meet. It was funny, on the last day of the meet; we got there well ahead of her start time. It was then that God decided to run his sprinklers on everyone…complete with clouds, thunder, and lightning. Because of the storm, they delayed everything for several hours. Sooo, we sat in the car, in the parking lot, waiting for the weather to clear. Of course, pregnancy bladder kicked in and Little Penelopoppy decided that Mommy was gonna have to figure out a squat spot. Duffy came up with the idea of going back to the hotel that we stayed in, even though we had checked out 6 hours earlier, and entering through the back door so I could use the lobby restroom. It worked like a charm! It was funny, we were like Mission Impossible: Hotel Baño!
We made it back home late Saturday night/Sunday morning. After sleeping in, I had an amazing Mother’s Day. I had the idea of watching all of the Avenger type movies and then taking the kids to see The Avengers. So, we spent the day watching superhero movies and relaxing.
I do feel a little spoiled, because I got some great gifts from my husband and my kiddos. A few of them were great pregnancy gifts. Dylan got me a total body pillow. Although I’m sleeping well now, I’m sure that will be greatly needed in the next few weeks. Duffy got me a rocking chair. It is so cute and will go great in the nursery. I remember having a rocking chair with Dylan and I absolutely loved it. I was worried about what I would use with Peneloppy. Well, as usual, Duffy saved the day. He found me the perfect rocking chair. I have to say, I have a great husband and great kids!
