Today, we had a great appointment at Women’s Medical Center. It was crazy because both of us were having a really hectic day and our appointment was scheduled for late in the afternoon. I was done working, but Duffy had to be at an event for the radio station and he was really worried that he would miss part of the appointment, the important part, hearing the baby’s heartbeat...

This is Cristi, our midwife. She's AWESOME! |
I saw Cristi Lubera today and she is awesome. Cristi is one of the midwives at Women’s Medical Center and I’m REALLY hoping that she is the one that helps me bring little Penelopoppy into the world. She is a Mom and I really like that she is open about that. It is nice to be able to talk to a woman who has gone through it all.
We got to hear the baby’s heartbeat. That is just the most awesome sound. Then, Cristi brought in an ultrasound machine and we got to see our little Penelopoppy. He/she was moving so much. It was kicking its adorable little legs and moving it’s cute little arms. Every time she would try to get a good look at its face or side profile it would spin around. We’re starting to think it has Dylan’s stubborn personality!
Because it didn’t want to be seen, we saw a lot of its backbone, which is very healthy. We got a good look at its cute little butt cheeks too. The baby definitely takes after Duffy, it was all about mooning the camera.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t a good enough view to see if Penelopoppy has a hamburger or hotdog (we were told that that is what they look for when determining the gender) so we’ll have to wait till June to find out. It is amazing to see our little baby on a screen and think of what a miracle it is. It is still hard for me to believe that I am pregnant and that we are having a baby. I wonder when it will finally set in.
